Children exposed in second hand smoke are at higher risk of these four types of cancers

Second hand smoking is worse than smoking itself. People who does not smoke but inhale the smoke from random smokers are at higher risk. People who are exposed in second hand smoke are also exposed to 7,000 chemicals and 70 of these can cause cancer.

Second hand smokes are link to adult cancers of these: Larynx, Pharynx, Nasal sinuses, brain, bladder, Rectum, Stomach, and Breast.

Children’s health 

Children are the most affected by SHS. Most of their exposures are from their parents smoking at home. Children whose parents smoke are more likely to get sick more often, Have lung infection like bronchitis and pneumonia, are more likely to cough and have shortness of breath and get ear infection. 

Second hand smoke triggers asthma and worse it can cause sudden infant death syndromes (SIDS).

And children who are exposed in second hand smoke are at risk of cancers of:


Lymphoma

Is a group of blood tumor cells. Symptoms include enlarged lymph nodes, fever and drenching sweats, weight loss, itching and feeling tired.


Leukemia

Is a group of cancers that begins from bone marrow that result to abnormal white blood cells. These white blood cells are not fully developed.  Symptoms are bleeding and bruising problems. Feeling tired, fever and increased risk of infections.


Liver cancer

Symptoms are fatigue, nausea, vomiting, back pain, fever, jaundice (skin, tongue and whites of the eyes become yellow), and weight loss.


Brain tumors

Symptoms of brain tumors depend where it is located and size. Are headache, vomiting, blurred vision memory loss, and changes in the ability to hear, taste or smell, change in mental functioning, seizures and weakness of a limb.
